Individual and Couples therapy
Individual Sessions:
I primarily use the IFS model in sessions, guiding you through your inner world. We explore and get to know the parts of you that are showing up in life––perhaps an anxious part, an angry part, a substance-using part or more childlike parts that are stuck in painful past events. I explain this approach further during our initial consultation phone call, so if you're curious, let's set up a call!
Other treatment approaches I use include EMDR, working with your nervous system, DBT, MI, mindfulness, meditation, and spirituality. There will be sessions where we can focus more on "traditional talk therapy," because I understand how good it feels to get things off our chests. It's important to talk about how you feel, so you don't trap emotions in.
After having my baby, I shifted my focus to working with moms during pregnancy and the postpartum stage. I know how crucial support is when you are pregnant and all that comes afterward. You do not need to feel alone during any of those stages of life—I'm here for you.
Couples Sessions:
Couples during pregnancy and postpartum can benefit from an additional layer of care and support through therapy. Relationships shift drastically after a baby arrives. Moms need support, and dads need support. Baby blues, postpartum depression, and anxiety are all experiences that can arise.
If you are a couple who is noticing that you're going through a challenging time with your "pattern, cycle, or dance" and want guidance in understanding how to identify that pattern and how to change it––we can work on that together. My role with my couples is to help map out the cycle/dance between each partner's protective parts and hurting parts that are being activated by the other. Then, we work on slowing down the process so we can be mindful about what is showing up. We take time with each partner's inner world and begin creating a new cycle, dance, or pattern that is more cohesive, loving, connected, and caring. Please bring your patience, as we will not rush through this process; I have been told over and over in consultation, and have learned over the years that slower is better.
Use the contact form to reach out or you can find my practice email and phone under the contact tab. I will reach back out to you as soon as I am able and we can get a 15 minute meet and greet phone call set up.
Consultation for Therapists
Therapy can be an isolating job. We have so much that we hold on our own that no one really gets, except other therapists. If you are in a solo practice or work remote, you might not have that team and support to collaborate with. I know that everything you hold can be heavy, sit with you, and impact your nervous system. I appreciate the time I get in personal therapy and in consultation, where I can just fully show up as myself and get support.
Consultation is not supervision, but it is a place to bring cases to go over to better serve your clients, share about how you are, get support for your career and life, bring whatever you need to the space. I get very excited working with other therapists :)
The IFS modality is my main approach so if you would like to consult about IFS, we will have a lot of fun together! If you aren't an IFS fan like me— that's okay too.
